OVERVIEW

Company

My client are a digital analytics consultancy. They help clients to get a competitive advantage by using their digital data in smarter ways. They are around 25 people, based in central London and also have offices in Hong Kong and Singapore. Their projects range from providing technical expertise through to full digital analytics strategy projects. Also work with some amazing clients across a range of sectors, with their biggest portfolio being in financial services.

Now are looking for a Senior Insight Analyst that can add immediate value to the consulting delivery teams.

Daily Activity

As a Senior Insight Analyst, you will report and analyse data in various ways in order to show trends and behaviours across our clients’ digital real estate. In addition to being very competent in Excel, you will need to have good PowerPoint skills as you will create client presentations on the insights you have found.

You will work with our Insight Consultants to extract insights and hypotheses from the data, and then create a narrative of insight for those presentations. This is not a heavily technical role but you will need to understand how each metric is produced in order to know what the data is telling you. It is a client-facing role and you will need to attend client meetings and conference calls. You will need to be able to explain the methodology you have used to derive your findings. You must be confident in the way you communicate this. Your work will be directly billable to clients.

The main responsibilities will be:

  • Data analysis. Reviewing existing data in the analytics platform to provide a high-level overview of the site, what is working/not working, the user flows through the site, and how that trends over time.
  • Insight creation. Working with Insight Managers to extract insights from the data, comparing user behaviours to identify segments, trends and potential problems.
  • Report creation. Producing compelling presentations in PowerPoint to deliver to customers.
  • Building automated KPI dashboards in Excel.

Profile

  • Experience of working with Adobe or Google Analytics (or other web analytics platforms), and reporting on-site activity.
  • An understanding of digital metrics and KPIs
  • Proficiency in Excel – able to build pivot tables, Vlookups and charts
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint – able to create good looking presentations with a good aesthetic and a strong narrative
  • Strong communication skills – able to communicate clearly to clients and colleagues in both written and spoken English. Note: it is essential that candidates are not only fluent in English, but have a strong grasp of English grammar and spelling

Preferably, you should have:

  • Degree-level education in digital marketing and analytics
  • Experience of data visualisation tools, like Tableau or Power BI
  • A good understanding of technology, with a desire to learn more and try new tools
  • Fastidious attention to detail – able to check the data extremely carefully to identify any errors
  • Sociability – be a generous and likeable team member
  • Curiosity – be energetic, positive, enthusiastic, with an enquiring mind

Location: London, United Kingdom

Salary: up to £45,000 plus 10% bonus and benefits
