Our leading digital partner is expanding their global network and are looking to appoint a Senior Data Engineer to support some incredible exciting clients with the right technology, strategy and training.

Senior Data Engineer opportunity

This is a role where you can make a big impact playing a key client-facing part in helping activate innovative data solutions across a range of projects, recognising that clean and meaningful data streamed at a rate which can give them a tangible competitive edge. 

You’ll either currently be a Certified Google Data Engineer alternatively be open to qualifying, relevant training will be provided – you’ll also share knowledge and run GCP training from time to time. 

Senior Data Engineer responsibilities 

  • Design and creation of data-led strategies which provide clients with opportunities to leverage their data for greater insight or performance.
  • Recommending the correct technologies to be used and in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Thought leadership with regards to best practice and use of the GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Be willing to take ownership of projects and to be able to present your proposed solutions to the wider team and to non-technical staff in an understandable way
  • All extract transform and load (ETL) processes and the creation of applications that can connect to remote APIs. Preferably including streaming data into environments such as BigQuery.

Senior Data Engineer attributes/skills

  • Solid Python programming skills. Java / other languages are beneficial.
  • Google Cloud Platform experience is beneficial.
  • Data Engineering / BI Development / Data Warehousing experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – able to communicate with clients effectively.
  • Adopts a “leave code better than you found it (and fully commented)” attitude.
